WHO IS LORD GANESH ?
Ganesha is the son of lord Shiva and goddess Parvati and he is the brother of Karthikeya (or Subrahmanya), the god of war. …. Repentant, He is worshipped at the very first of the pooja .
All red colored flowers are dear to Lord Ganesha but the saffron yellow flower named Marigold is Lord Ganesha’s favorite flower. Especially Red Genda or Red Marigold flowers are believed to please the Vinayaka greatly.

WHY LORD GANESHA HAS A ELEPHANT HEAD ?
Lord ganesh has a elephant head because one day when goddess parvati told ganesh not to let anybody enter while she was bathing . ganesh agreed and told her mother not to worry about it , so when her mother was bathing lord shiva came and told ganesh to let him in as he wanted to talk with her . Ganesh didn’t knew who he was , so he told no i cannot let you in . my mother gave the duty to let nobody enter inside . lord shiva got angry and cut off his head . when goddess parvati came and saw her child dead she got angry and took the Siddhidatri avatar and started destroying the universe . shiva told one of his shivgans to bring and childs face , but he told bring only that child’s head that is sleeping with his back towards his mother . so they brought the head of the elephant who was sleeping with his back towards his mother . lord shiva fixed the head to lord ganesha’s body .
